Calling all artists, printmakers, collectives, galleries, universities, studios and other venues — PrintAustin is now accepting registrations for its 2019 season!

All exhibitions, happenings, workshops, demonstrations, panel discussions, artist talks, or events that promote the art of printmaking and take place in Austin and surrounding areas between January 15 through February 15, 2019 are welcome to apply. For details on how to participate, click here.

THE CONTEMPORARY PRINT

PrintAustin is thrilled to announce the open call for its 6th annual juried international exhibition, The Contemporary Print. Presented in collaboration with Big Medium, this year’s exhibition will be juried by Dr. Anna Katherine Brodbeck, and be held at Big Medium Gallery during PrintAustin 2019. The Contemporary Print is a survey of traditional printmaking techniques and innovative approaches in contemporary printmaking. PrintAustin Welcomes New Executive Director
Paloma Mayorga, local artist and independent curator, was appointed as PrintAustin’s Executive Director earlier this summer. Paloma has been involved in the printmaking community since 2013, and has worked with PrintAustin since 2016. She recently received the award for Best Artist from the Austin Chronicle’s 2017 Reader’s Poll, and brings ample experience in arts nonprofit administration to PrintAustin, having worked with Austin’s own Mexic-Arte Museum, Serie Project and Coronado Studio. The Contemporary Print Juror Announced
Dr. Anna Katherine Brodbeck is the Nancy and Tim Hanley Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Dallas Museum of Art, and has recently accepted to serve as Juror for this year’s The Contemporary Print. Dr. Brodbeck’s extensive background in Latin American and Islamic art is sure to bring a fresh perspective to PrintAustin’s juried exhibition.
