The Contemporary Print
The Contemporary Print, held January 10-February 18, 2017, will be a survey of the traditions and the innovations of contemporary printmaking happening today. While non-traditional or digital output is accepted as a print element, submissions must utilize traditional print media as their primary technique including: Lithography, Relief, Intaglio, Silkscreen, and Monotype.
JUROR: We are elated to announce our 2017 juror Susan Tallman. Susan Tallman is an art historian who has written extensively on the history and culture of the print, as well as on issues authenticity, reproduction and multiplicity. She is Editor-in-Chief of the journal and website Art in Print, and her writing has appeared in Art in America, Parkett, Public Art Review, Art on Paper, Print Quarterly, Arts Magazine and many other publications. Her books include The Contemporary Print: from Pre-Pop to Postmodern (Thames and Hudson),The Collections of Barbara Bloom (Steidl), and numerous museum catalogues. She has lived and worked in New York, Amsterdam and Berlin, and currently teaches in the Departments of Printmedia and Art History, Theory and Criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Opening Reception: January 20, 2017, 6-8 p.m.
Closing Reception and Awards: February 9, 2017, 6-8 p.m.
Location: O2 Space at Flatbed Press Headquarters
Cost: $35 for up to three entries. Prize awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

- Print Exchange. Participants to print an edition for an exchange.
- BinFest print sale, where artists can submit original prints backed by foam core and wrapped in plastic for collectors to flip through.
- PrintExpo is an opportunity for local artists and vendors to reach a print-minded audience.
