Event Description

With an affinity for the uncanny, grotesque and surreal, Liz Hermanson produces work addressing the subconscious and its associations with isolation, social phobias, and nightmares. Drawing upon diverse sources to explore our aesthetic lives, both waking and unconscious, Hermanson forges a world full of mirrors reflecting a stranger, more robust experience of being than our defined, pragmatic world view allows. As a resident of Austin, Texas, Liz studied intaglio printmaking at The University of Texas. The artist currently lives and works in Austin, TX and works predominantly with copper engraving.
