Event Description

Learn the basics of printing and editioning your relief woodcuts or linocuts on the Vandercook proof press. The instructor will cover proper inking, adjusting packing, adjusting rollers and the operating the press to edition your carved block. Color registration will be covered, but students will edition only in one color during the workshop. Completion of this class will qualify students to use the Vandercook presses during Open Studio times. Students will bring their own paper and blocks that are already carved. (This workshop does not cover carving blocks).

About the Organizer/Venue

The Austin Book Arts Center is a small nonprofit, makerspace located on E MLK Blvd at Flatbed Press World Headquarters. Since its founding in 2015, ABAC has offered over 200 workshops in bookbinding, paper making and printing, in addition to making its studio and equipment available to artists and students through the Open Studio Program.
